Erg mooi en gedetailleerd museum over de laatste poging van het Duitse leger om een overwinning op de Geallieerden te forceren. Bij de ingang krijgt u een "oortje" waarmee u door een gesproken stem uitleg krijgt over de inhoud van elk display. Bijzonder goed verzorgd museum met een erg mooie collectie. Als u Bastogne bezoekt, moet u dit museum gezien hebben.

In order to perpetuate the memory of the last German offensive and of the historical siege of the city of Bastogne, the Bastogne Historical Center has installed in its star-shaped building two reconstruction scenes, an American one and a German one, which allow visitors to relive, with realism and a lot of details, moments of the battle and the soldiers’s daily life. All the exhibited equipment and uniforms are authentic. Still nowadays, the exceptional collections of the museum keep growing richer notably thanks to donations made by collectors and veterans and thanks to constant research. A beautiful museum that you should absolutely visit when visiting Bastogne.

Het Museum laat zien hoe de Slag om Arnhem verlopen is. Deze vond in september 1944 plaats in het gebied tussen Ede en Arnhem. Deze Slag maakte deel uit van de geallieerde operatie 'Market Garden'. Britse, Amerikaanse en Poolse luchtlandingstroepen moesten de bruggen over de rivieren vanaf de grens met België tot aan Arnhem bezetten.

The Museum shows the course of events during the Battle of Arnhem. It took place in September 1944 and covered the area between the centre of Arnhem and Ede. The 'Battle for the Rhine Bridge' was part of the operation 'Market Garden'. British, American and Polish airborne forces were to capture the bridges over rivers and waterways from the Belgian border to Arnhem.

From history came a modern museum, situated between hills and woodsand located in one of the most beautiful spots in the Netherlands, 10 kilometers south-east of Nijmegen. History is brought back to life again at the National Liberation Museum 1944-1945. In the museum, visitors live through the period preceding the war, experience the occupation, celebrate the liberation and witness the rebuilding of the Netherlands and Europe after the war. By using smells, interactive presentations, dioramas, models, original films and sound fragments, the liberation is depicted captivatingly. The museum shows both young and old the current value and importance of democracy, freedom and human rights.

Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork in Hooghalen was built in 1983. It was the result of a private initiative combined with financial support from the Dutch government. The museum houses a permanent exhibition on the history of camp Westerbork, with many original photographs, documents, drawings, paintings, images, maps, and objects from Westerbork. The documentation centre houses a collection of books, documents, photographs, and videotapes, which are all available for research. Visitors can consult the Memorial Books of the Oorlogsgravenstichting (War Graves Foundation). They record the names of more than 140,000 Dutchmen who were killed during World War II and who did not receive a proper burial.
